An app does not need every permission

A game asks for contacts. A photo tool wants location access all day. Permission requests are easy to accept while trying to get to the useful part. Come back later and decide whether the access fits the job.

With your child, open the phone’s privacy or permission settings. Pick three apps you use often and review their camera, microphone, location, and contacts access. Where available, choose access only while using the app or an approximate location when that is enough.

Change one setting at a time and check what stops working. A mapping feature may need location; a sticker feature may not. Keep the permissions you understand and need. Remove apps nobody uses rather than leaving their accounts and access forgotten.

Let the child explain what each app does. This works better as a shared habit than a surprise inspection. The useful lesson is simple: downloading an app is not an agreement to share everything on the phone forever.
